  1. Remove any loaded material from the existing tool head.

    • Power off the printer.

  2. Remove the two screws holding down the x carriage cover on the top of the extruder gantry with the 2.5mm included hex key. Unplug the 20-pin connector. If applicable, cut the zip ties holding the tool head wire bundle located at the back of the extruder gantry.
    • Remove the two screws holding down the x carriage cover on the top of the extruder gantry with the 2.5mm included hex key.

    • Unplug the 20-pin connector.

    • If applicable, cut the zip ties holding the tool head wire bundle located at the back of the extruder gantry.

  3. Unscrew the three screws located at the back of the extruder gantry with the 5mm included hex key. Remove the tool head.
    • Unscrew the three screws located at the back of the extruder gantry with the 5mm included hex key.

    • Remove the tool head.

  4. Place the LM Nano tool head on the extruder gantry and screw in the three screws at the back of the extruder gantry.
    • Place the LM Nano tool head on the extruder gantry and screw in the three screws at the back of the extruder gantry.

  5. Remove foam from the 20-pin connector on the LM Nano. If you have the Mini without the green arrow sticker, look for the small arrow engraved on the 20-pin connector on the Mini. Align this arrow with the teal arrow on your LM Nano. Place the x carriage cover back on, and replace the two screws. If you have the Mini that has a wire guard integrated into this cover, use the old version of the cover included in the box with your LM Nano. If you have the old cover plate you will not need this piece.
    • Remove foam from the 20-pin connector on the LM Nano. If you have the Mini without the green arrow sticker, look for the small arrow engraved on the 20-pin connector on the Mini. Align this arrow with the teal arrow on your LM Nano.

    • Place the x carriage cover back on, and replace the two screws. If you have the Mini that has a wire guard integrated into this cover, use the old version of the cover included in the box with your LM Nano. If you have the old cover plate you will not need this piece.

    • Power on your printer.

    • Make sure your Mini is plugged into your computer via USB. Open Cure LulzBot Edition, select Machine>Install custom firmware.

    • Use the file locator to locate the firmware you have just downloaded from our website, open the file, and press “start” to initiate the installation.

    • Upon successful installation, you will see a “Done!” message in the installer window. Click “ok.”

  7. You are now ready to use your new LM Nano tool head!
